Some tips to protect your child from possible burns

(HealthDay News) –Children can be an easy sufferer of severe burns from different domestic items in the house, so it is a matter of utmost importance to take intensive care to avoid these kinds of accidents. Below are some tips to protect your child form burns.

  • You must always test bathwater yourself before allowing your child in the bath. The thermostat on your water heater should be around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • You mustn’t allow your children to take baths in a hot tub, Whirlpool tub or Jacuzzi tub.
  • Keep matches in lockers or at the places that are out of your child’s reach. Don’t allow your child to play with matches or lighters ever.
  • Don’t smoke in your child’s presence and never put a lit cigarette near your child.
  • Never hold a hot drink like tea or coffee while holding child.
  • Keep a sharp eye on children when they are around radiators, stoves, ovens, fireplaces. Instruct your children never to touch these things.
