Healthy AgingAging is known as changes, process of growth and development of living organisms. Aging refers to multidimensional process of physical, psychological and social change. Dimensions of aging grow and expand over time. Physical reactions may slow down with age, while knowledge of world events and wisdom may expand. The aging has been divided as young old (65-74), the middle old (75-84) and the oldest one (aged and above 85).

The number and the proportion of older people in the society are getting increased each day. The causes are migration, longer life expectancy and decreased birth rate. Comparing to young people they have different requirements from society and government. They have more political influences too.

Lifespan of a Human

Human lives have divided into various ages due to biological changes. It varies from person to person. In USA, old age is considered to begin at the age of legal retirement, approximately 65 years. Human age is also divided by decades.

Cultural Variation of Aging

Calculating aging will differ from culture to culture; in some culture they express aging by counting years with or without including current year.   • Self-rated life satisfaction in eight domains, namely marriage, income related work, children, friendship, social controls, hobbies, religion and recreations (i.e.) sports, community service activities.
  • No physical disability over the age of 75 as rated a physician.
  • Good subjective health assessment (i.e. good self-ratings of one’s health)

Regular physical activity will help you a lot in reducing the risk of early dying by heart disease, cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure. Physical activity also helps to control weight, contributes to healthy bones, muscles, and joints. Exercise helps to relieve pain of arthritis, reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression and can decrease the need for hospitalizations, physicians visit, and medications. People of all age groups can get benefit from moderate physical activity.

Healthy Aging

The old age related diseases and conditions are cuased mostly from the young age. The youngsters who run behind money at younger age fail to look after their health and hence lose it too early and suffer a lot during old age.
