WEDNESDAY –Even the most severe forms of constipation are no more a big issue, as two new drugs show promising result.
Almost 15% Americans have to face constipation at any given time, stated Dr. Michael Camilleri, lead author of one of those two reports that published in New England Journal of Medicine on May 29. Camilleri’s reported on the usefulness of prucalopride drug on 620 chronic constipation patients.
In a small number of people constipation occurs due nerves ‘disorder and these people usually had one bowel movement after every tow weeks, Camilleri explained.
We have no idea how many Americans have to face such intense constipation but these cases are not rare, Camilleri added.
