EricssonFor the first time, the Ericsson’s technology would be finding a place with a laptop this year. Ericsson has entered in to a partnership with the Lenovo in order to facilitate the laptop users with a ‘DSL-like experience’. Lenovo, the PC maker’s ‘ThinkPad Notebook’ computers will now have an embedded HSPA mobile broadband module enhancing the user applicability of the machine.

HSPA, the ‘High Speed Packet Access, is a typical ‘high-speed cellular technology ‘that is capable of enhancing the peak download rates up to 14 Mbps. With this technology, at the same time, the peak upload rates could also be enhanced up to 2 Mbps. In technology realm, it is also known as the ‘High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA).

Looking to the increasing trends towards the uploading rate among the users, Ericsson went on to make a differentiation with the ‘HSDPA ‘and preferred this as HSPA only. The reason behind this shift, the company says, it was necessary as the “uplink is becoming just as important as the downlink”. Now days, people are more inclined to upload loads of information from their own computers to various servers and this is approaching fast to reach up to an almost equal level with the downloading.
