Deal between Google and Yahoo is on half way

Yahoo Inc. came closer to outsourcing its explorer advertising to Google Inc. after an early test of the system yielded what the two firms believed positive results, people know the issue.

A joint venture can give Yahoo some required force as it tries to fend off an annoying $42 billion proposal from Microsoft Corp.Some view the latent deal as sheer gamesmanship, chiefly in light of no trust fears that a Google-Yahoo connection would likely hoist.

A search-ad agreement may perhaps set hurdles Microsoft’s struggles but is not likely to disrupt its plan. Yahoo could plainly pull out of the joint venture should it agree to be taken over by Microsoft, people know the matter said.

Yahoo still reluctant to Microsoft‘s bid AP

SAN FRANCISCO - Denying the threat of a troublesome buyout battle that could hit its unstable stock, Internet pioneer Yahoo Inc. restated its refusal, to sell to Microsoft Corp. for less than $45 billion, on Monday.

Yahoo’s boldness was quite obvious in a letter to Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, marked the latest twist in a struggle pitting two high-tech icons trying to create a more difficult confront to online search and advertising leader Google Inc.

The edgy struggle now appears to have reached a turning point after more than two months of generally behind-the-scenes manipulation.Ballmer heated up the issue on the weekend by setting April 26 a deadline for Yahoo to accept Microsoft’s offer.

Google Unveils New Plan Devices of “White Space” Wireless Airwaves

Washington - Google revealed plans for a class of wireless devices to work on soon-to-be-vacant television airwaves on Monday.The company sought to ease worries that this might get in the way of wireless microphones or television broadcasts.

In explanation filed with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), Google Inc summarized plans for low-power devices,which make use of local wireless airwaves for accessing the”white space”between TV channels.One of the Google official named the plan as” Wi-Fi on steroids or Wi-Fi 2.0.”"The airwaves can give enormous social and economic gains if efficiently used,”the Internet leader said in its comments.

In the long run this set of Wi-Fi devices might give data transmission speeds up to billions of bits/second,which is far greater than the millions of bits/second to be had on most of the existing broadband networks.People could do things like watching movies on wireless devices and other things,which are at present difficult on slower networks, said Rick Whitt of Google’s Washington telecom and media counsel. EU Hits Microsoft with Record 899 Million Euro Antitrust Fine

MicrosoftBRUSSELS, Belgium - The European Union fined the software giant Microsoft Corp. a record $1.3 billion Wednesday for charging unreasonable amount for providing software information to its competitors.

Regulators of EU said that the company imposed “unfair prices” till last October to software developers, who wanted to develop products, which is well matched with the Windows operating system. This is the largest fine ever charged for an individual company.

Microsoft immediately responded to this issue by saying that the problem has been solved and the company was making its products more open to all.

The fine was imposed with in a week after Microsoft had announced that it is ready to share more information about its technology and products with a view to make it work better with competitor’s software and to meet the demands of European antitrust regulators.

Yahoo buys Internet video company

Boston: Yahoo has purchased Maven Networks, an Internet video toolmaker, for $160 million.

Maven, located in Massachusetts, sells video-publishing systems and tool sets that allow companies play, distribute and syndicate broadband video. The acquisition will be an upcoming age for the advertising sector, which will be generating more than $4 billion in annually within the next three years.

The company has been successful in making an understanding with ‘Sony Ericsson’ to make and market the Smartphone’s running with the ‘Windows Mobile Operating System’.
