Soldiers could handle weapons and operate computer at the same time:A new glove has been developed for that purpose
Many U.S soldiers deputed in Iraq are using such uniform as have a computer system in them. But the thing that is lacking in these computerized uniforms is how to use them in dangerous situations as the soldiers have weapons in their hands and can’t operate these systems with their already equipped hands.A solution of this problem has been presented by Cambridge, MA based startup RallyPoint. They have developed a hand glove with such sensors as allow the soldiers to operate their computer systems without taking off their hands from their weapons.
The glove has been named as Handwear computer input device (HCID) and The Natick soldier system center in Natick is going to sign a contract with Rallypoint while Natick soldier system center in Natick has been also testing sample of that device.
However, one must keep in mind that the idea for such device is not totally a new idea and researchers from different groups and companies have already done enough work over that concept. But most of the time the researchers didn’t succeed to create a really helpful device in this connection.Companies like Microsoft and Sony have also worked over these projects but their research couldn’t produce worthwhile results yet. Most of the time the produced devices didn’t prove dependable and strong for tough warlike situations and failed even during the sample tests.
