Key Points:

  • Sell more and earn more money.
  • Get visitors that have genuine interest in your content.
  • Build trust in your visitors even before they visit your website.

Sounds like the things you want? Search engine traffic does just that. When you get listed in the results for a search term on Google, these things happen:

1- The visitor would have the impression that you’re an authority.

This is automatically built up by the fact that search engines function on good content in the top results. Google became the leading search engine because they could provide very relevant content in their search results; closest to what the searcher expected. As the many searches come up with results that the user wants, the user begins to trust that the search engine will give them good, reliable information in the results - meaning that if your site appears there, you are most likely to be trusted. Visitors who trust you will buy your products and subscribe to your feeds and come back for more information.

Permalinks

A URL that links to the specific blog entry which has entered the archives section, after being displayed in the front page is called a Permalink. Very few blog hosts support this feature. WordPress luckily does. By default, WordPress indexes or names its pages containing a lot of numerals and question marks. This is a shortcoming when it comes to search engine rankings. The Importance of Deep Links in Directories

posted by admin in April 12th, 2007  Article Under: Internet, SEO, Web Directories

Deep links are nothing but links that point to precise pages in your website. Explaining them would make it easier to pen down the advantages that it could fetch to your business. To get a better understanding, for example, you own a shopping website and after the description of each product, you put a back link to the home page instead of driving the user to some specific articles on your site. These could be the articles that talk about your various products and its benefits. So simply put as, you do not point back to the articles and you go to the main page directly. Such navigation does not help you in optimizing the link structure on your website. Another way to look at it would be that if someone comes across a good website and wants to share it with friends, then the obvious way to do it would be to copy the link from the browser and paste it back to share with others. This is called deep linking – pointing to something exact within your website. This gives the precise location of a certain page in a website. For those who are still not familiar with what deep linking means, it means that pointing people to research an article or a description on your website. As in, instead of simply asking the visitors to go to “www.wikipedia.com” and find the exact page of interest, you can always provide the precise link like “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_link”
