Yahoo vs microsoftMicrosoft is planning to buy Yahoo search business

After months long fruitless efforts to buyout Yahoo, now there is another plan that Microsoft is working out now a days. According to a reliable source Microsoft has offered to buy Yahoo’s search business and so trying to have a portion from the Web initiator.
It has been told that Yahoo will sell its Asian assets like considerable marginal shares in Yahoo Japan and Alibaba group China as a part of this deal, while Microsoft will buy a large portion of the of the rest of the company.

The two companies revealed their talks on Sunday, but they didn’t inform about any term of discussion. As all we know Microsoft had to retreat from a buyout offer to acquire Yahoo in $47.5 billion which comes $33 per share but Yahoo rejected that offer and demanded $37 a share for the settlement of the deal.

computer-input-device-gives-soldiers-a-handMany U.S soldiers deputed in Iraq are using such uniform as have a computer system in them.But the thing that is lacking in these computerized uniforms is how to use them in dangerous situations as the soldiers have weapons in their hands and can’t operate these systems with their already equipped hands.A solution of this problem has been presented by Cambridge, MA based startup RallyPoint.They have developed a hand glove with such sensors as allow the soldiers to operate their computer systems without taking off their hands from their weapons.

The glove has been named as Handwear computer input device (HCID) and The Natick soldier system center in Natick is going to sign a contract with Rallypoint while Natick soldier system center in Natick has been also testing sample of that device.

However, one must keep in mind that the idea for such device is not totally a new idea and researchers from different groups and companies have already done enough work over that concept.But most of the time the researchers didn’t succeed to create a really helpful device in this connection.Companies like Microsoft and Sony have also worked over these projects but their research couldn’t produce worthwhile results yet.Most of the time the produced devices didn’t prove dependable and strong for tough warlike situations and failed even during the sample tests.

Benjamin Fried will be the new CEO of Google

Benjamin FriedAccording to CNET News.com Benjamin Fried will be the new head information officer of Google.Benjamin Fried has been working with Morgan Stanley’s computing operations for around 14 years. Benjamin Fried is a programmer who proved quite successful and ran many of Morgan Stanley’s computing communications.

Matt Furman a spokesperson of Google informed Thursday that Fried will join the new post in May 2008.At present, Fried is working as managing director of Morgan Stanley’s Application Infrastructure group.

According to an inside Morgan Stanley note perceived by News.com, Fried will depart Morgan Stanley till end April and will join Google the narrated word on this memo are “To follow prospects outside the company.”

The note also indicated that Fried is no stranger to Google.While at Morgan Stanley, one of his projects was working on Google’s initial public offering in 2004, the memo said.
Douglas Merrill was the last Google’s CIO and he quit earlier this month and he would be the head of EMI’s digital unit.These rumors are in rife from the beginning of this month that Fried will be new CIO of Google.
