IMGTo see Google together with Salesforce.com may tempt Steve Ballmer to call Marc Benioff and do a same sort of deal. Its apparent answer is negative but longer answer is difficult to state.

Google’s conformity to put together its office output applications with Salesforce’s client relationship association software apparently is a big agreement.

But business politics are just a part of the story. This new coalition identifies another indication in the tech industry’s sluggish march in the direction of a future in which now more but in the coming days most–software functions ultimately be located on the Internet. This hasn’t oblivion to Microsoft’s awareness.

Many sources preserve that supporting Salesforce as the new business platform isn’t likely to happen. As an alternative, Microsoft plans to go its own way and we must wait for to notice something out of Microsoft with the lines of what Google did with its app engine.
While addressing monetary analysts last summer, Ozzie presented an idea of a future of profound services where enormous data focuses to fortify a cloud infrastructure services cover on which all of Microsoft’s online services would run.

Washington - Google revealed plans for a class of wireless devices to work on soon-to-be-vacant television airwaves on Monday. The company sought to ease worries that this might get in the way of wireless microphones or television broadcasts.

In explanation filed with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), Google Inc summarized plans for low-power devices, which make use of local wireless airwaves for accessing the”white space”between TV channels. One of the Google official named the plan as” Wi-Fi on steroids or Wi-Fi 2.0.”"The airwaves can give enormous social and economic gains if efficiently used,”the Internet leader said in its comments.

In the long run this set of Wi-Fi devices might give data transmission speeds up to billions of bits/second,which is far greater than the millions of bits/second to be had on most of the existing broadband networks.People could do things like watching movies on wireless devices and other things, which are at present difficult on slower networks, said Rick Whitt of Google’s Washington telecom and media counsel. Pentagon Bans Google Teams from Bases

WASHINGTON – Due to security problems, the Pentagon banned Google teams from making clear and comprehensive street-level video maps of U.S. military bases after the images of a Texas base was put on the Google Maps website.

Google said taking such kind of images is against its policy and this incident was a mistake.

A message which was sent to the officials of all Defense Department bases and installations around the country ordered not to allow the Google teams to take street-level images inside the facilities.

“We have got information that Google Maps was collecting 360 degree street-level images, including detailed imagery, of the military base in Texas,” said Gary Ross, the spokesman for the US Northern Command, in a press meet.

Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, chief of the U.S. Northern Command, said he was concerned that allowing the 360-degree, street-level view could provide clear and comprehensive images and thus potential anti social elements may get sensitive information and it may endanger the base personnel.

Google is now set to hit the video advertising markets with its latest launch of “Video Advertising Program” on Thursday. The company is visualizing for a great time ahead with its arms,”You Tube”, and the existing “Ad-Network”. It hopes to materialize huge capital from the exponentially growing video advertising and online video.

Google’s Video Advertising Program

Long awaited “AdSense for Video”, this new initiative from Google, came after the start of ‘testing text links’ with the video advertisements side by side of the search results. It is in beta stage right now and advertisers have been offered an option for “placing their text-ads overlaid at the bottom of a video viewer”, according to Google. This will facilitate a viewer to click on the overlay in order to see the video advertisement.

Google’s idea of showing video ads is quite different from the regular television ads which show up before the start of a program. Google’s ads will not be obstructive in that manner. Google in fact has taken a different approach and this will not prompt viewers to put the ads off, says the company.

After years of take-overs and mergers, the top 3 search engines, Google, Yahoo!, and MSN Live, are showing all the signs of 2008 being the year they finally square up to each other in the war for dominance of the search engine market. The smallest players have been bought out or reduced to irrelevance amidst expanded service offerings and higher expectations from consumers. The first shots have already been fired, now the world waits to see who will lead the charge.

Google, Yahoo, and Live Search

The top three search engines have been built up quite differently from each other, they each started with different goals at different times in the evolution of the search engine market. Strategic acquisitions are complementing organic growth. Each has now built a solid business, protected with a range of patents, and driven by talent, and most importantly, access to massive investment dollars. Here’s the breakdown;

Google is currently number one in terms of market share and brand awareness. Founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google has always been a search engine utilizing off page links to webpage content as the basis for determining the popularity and authority, and therefore the relevance of indexed content.
